Historical Mission 09/04/40

The personnel at Fornebu are woken up and dispersion of the aircraft at the base is ordered. The heavy cloud cover breaks slightly and the sound of aircraft engines can be heard. You are in one of Two Gladiators sent out for reconnaissance purposes. Visibilty is bad so identifying the aircraft before shooting will be a problem.

Historical Mission 09/04/40

Three Gladiators have returned from a flight over Oslofjord sighting no aircraft, but several unidentified warships. After refuelling it's your turn to join four others in another sweep of the area.

Depleted in numbers you return to base only to hear the sound of more aircraft engines. Visibility is still poor and there are only two seviceable Gladiators at the airfield. Shoot down what you can then head North to Eggemoen Airfield.

10/04/40

During the attack on Bergen visibility was poor and in the confusion the light cruiser Königsberg hit the cliffs at Oldernes. This mission was to sink the Königsberg before she could reach a harbour to be repaired. The collision damage slowed the cruiser and allowed Blackburn Skua aircraft, which happened to be stationed in Shetland to finnish the job the next day.

A belated attack on the already occupied airfield near Stavanger was the first RAF attack in occupied Norway. Six Wellington bombers will execute a low level attack during the day before any fighter defence has been assembled at the airfield. Destroy all ground units and fuel dump at the airfield. Only one wellington was shot down and there was no fighter escort in the actual raid. You will rendezvous with the Wellingtons at sea and escort the bombers to their target.

Escort the Wellingtons which will make their biggest assault to date. German shipping and installations in the Stavanger area will be targeted. In the actual attack Bomber Command lost 3 Wellingtons and 6 Hampdens out of 83 aircraft in all, their biggest loss so far. The Hurricanes are substitute (Blenheims) fighter escorts.

29/04/40

The Germans have been using Fornebu airfield to airlift troops into Norway. Fly in low to avoid detection. The aircraft and buildings are the primary objective. Any warships in Oslofjord are secondary targets. There was a raid on the airfield although the hurricanes are fictional fighter escorts. Make sure the bombers reach their targets.

You have been given Spitfires to attack the radar installations at Nåra and Fedje. This will be dangerous as the airfield of Herdla nearby prevents any bomber raid. Expect an airbattle.
